| I decided to paint the flowers (delphiniums) first and then sort of work backwards. I used ultramarine blue, and a little permanent rose for the blossoms and sap green, yellow ochre, and burnt sienna for leaves and stems After it was all dry, I "painted" each flower carefully with frisket. |

| Here I have started with the first wash on the mid range mountains. I used ultramarine blue mixed with yellow ochre, dropping in ultramarine blue, june bug and indigo here and there. |

| For the most distant mountains I used a weak mixture of ultramarine blue and yellow ochre, dropping in a little of the blue by itself for shadows |

| Moving closer, I used cadmium orange, then a light mixture of ultramarine blue and permanent rose, adding sap green for the lower trees |

| For the closest ridge behind the flowers I again used the cad orange and ultramarine blue, as well as june bug and the sap green for trees with a little ultramarine blue for shadow |
The closer mountains will need another wash or two adding more detail and shadows. The drama in this painting, hopefully, will be the sky. To be continued....

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Anon, Starting a blog is relatively easy and inexpensive. I use google's EBlogger which is free. The only thing you have to pay for is your domain name and the cost of redirecting it to your actual blog address. If you are not computer literate you may need some assistance from someone who is. But look up EBlogger or Wordpress for free blogging options.
Finally a person that puts some real work into a blog. I do like what you have done with the blog.
